Baking Mixes FAQ's

How long do the Baking Mixes Last?

Our baking mixes have a best before date of 6 months. We don't add any additional preservatives to keep them on the shelf longer, we only add the ingredients needed like flours, sugars, chocolate chips etc. It is a Best Before so you can still use it after this time but we would recommend using it before hand.

I'm not a baker will I be able to bake these?

Yes! We have kids that make our baking mixes, they are all designed to be easy to make for any skill level. You do not need any baking experience to make these and you will likely surprise yourself that you can actually make them.

Do you do Gluten Free?

At this stage we do not offer gluten free, we will do in the future but want to ensure we have a dedicated and certified Gluten Free space to make these so that there is no contamination. If you are after Gluten Free you can join our mailing list to be the first to know when we create these.

Are the mixes made here in Australia?

Yes we make all our Baking Mixes, they are not mass produced they are made in small batches by us. We have created the recipes and baking mixes and will always continue make them in house. They are made in a council approved commercial kitchen. We use Australian Ingredients where possible, although we do use Belgium cocoa powder because it's absolutely delicious! But as much as we can we use high quality Australian Ingredients

We have allergies in the family can I use substitutions for the added ingredients?

Yes, we have had many bakers with egg allergies or dairy allergies who have used substitutions. I have personally made the cupcakes with dairy free butter and dairy free milk and they worked beautifully. But we have not tested all of these ourselves to know the amounts used or what to add etc. If you have any questions you can let us know, we can always try to help.

I don't have a stand mixer can I still buy these?

Yes definitely, stand mixers are lovely but if you don't have one you can use your hand held mixer too. Most of our Baking Mixes don't require a mixer and if they do it will say so on the product page, but again a hand held mixer can be used as well for all of these.

Baking Accessories

Are the silicone accessories dishwasher safe?

Yes! Any of our silicone products are silicone safe, excluding the wooden handle spatulas. Wash your cupcake moulds upside down so they don't fill with water. Or you can simply wash with them with soapy warm water

If you have a spatula with a wooden handle this is Not dishwasher safe. Please wash any wooden handle spatulas with warm soapy water

Are the baking mats oven safe

Yes our baking mats can go from -40°C - 230°C  meaning you can pop them in the fridge if needed and in the oven to bake up a storm.

You can use these for cooking as well instead of baking paper not just baking but please note that cooking with these may stain your baking mat depending on what you cook. They are still safe to use, I like to have seperate ones for baking and some for cooking.

Is this silicone BPA free

Yes, our products are FDA approved, BPA free and re-usable to be more environmentally friendly

My cupcake moulds won't hold shape in the oven?

We recommend to always pop your silicone moulds into a cupcake tray just like you normally would for cupcakes patties. This helps them hold their shape in a hot oven and not tip over. They fit into a normal metal cupcake tray

I find my silicone has a funny taste after the dishwasher?

This can be because of the dishwasher detergents etc that you are using or the way your dishwasher works, they can sometimes leave a film or taste on different kitchen items. If you find this happens we would recommend to just wash them with warm soapy water instead. I have never had an issue with mine personally but we all have different dishwashers and different detergents.
