Choc Chip Cookies Christmas Shapes Using Our Choc Chip Cookie Baking Mix
For Day 3 of our 24 Day Advent Calendar Baking Countdown we made something fun and a little different using our Choc Chip Cookie Baking Mix. I was asked if you can cut Christmas shapes like gingerbread men and Christmas trees from choc chip cookie dough so of course I had to try it and yes you absolutely can.
They are not as perfect or clean edged as gingerbread or shortbread but they look adorable and they are the perfect option if you love Christmas baking but you are not a huge fan of gingerbread. These hold their shape really well as long as you chill the dough properly which is the key step.
What You Need
- 1 pack of Bake it Choc Chip Cookie Baking Mix
-
Christmas cookie cutters
- 2 pieces of Baking paper to roll your cookie dough in-between
How to Make Choc Chip Cookie Christmas Shapes
Make your baking mix as per the instructions. Once mixed do not roll it into balls. Get two sheets of baking paper and roll the dough between them to about one centimetre thick. You do not need to be exact.
Place the dough into the fridge for at least two hours. Do not skip this step as it helps the dough keep its shape when cut and baked.
Once chilled preheat your oven to 175c. Use your cookie cutters to press out your shapes. You may need to press a little harder around the choc chips and lift the dough gently from the cutter so it does not break.
Bake your cookies for about ten minutes or until just baked. When they come out of the oven they will still be soft so you can use a knife to lightly tidy the edges if needed. Do not pick them up while hot or they will break.
Leave to cool completely and enjoy. These turned out so cute and are such a fun alternative for Christmas baking.
