Last-Minute Birthday Cake Magic (No Decorating Skills Needed!)

Even when you’re short on time, you can still whip up something delicious that everyone will love. No stress, no fancy skills required.
We had a birthday come up that got shifted around last minute, and instead of rushing to buy a cake, I pulled out our Vanilla Cupcakes Baking Mix and made this gorgeous little birthday cake in no time!
Here’s how I did it:
🎂 Make your Vanilla Cupcakes Baking Mix as per the instructions
🎂 Preheat your oven as instructed, and instead of cupcakes, pour the mix into a cake tin (I used a square one just because I felt like it!)
🎂 Bake until cooked through, then let it cool slightly before transferring to a rack to cool completely
🎂 While it’s cooling, whip up your buttercream (it comes in the cupcake mix!)
🎂 Ice your cake—don’t worry about it being perfect! No one notices and everyone just wants cake 😅
🎂 I used a 1M piping tip to add a bit of texture around the edges and piped a few simple bows
🎂 I coloured some of the buttercream with red food colouring to pipe a “Happy Bday” message & some super cute bows
🎂 You could also add a cute cake topper or edible image if piping’s not your thing
And that’s it! 🎉
