How to make cakes using Chocolate Cupcake Baking Mix

How to make cakes using Chocolate Cupcake Baking Mix - Bake it by Giovannellis

If you didn't know you can actually take your Chocolate Cupcakes Baking Mix and turn it into the most delicious Chocolate Cake

It will make a taller 6’’inch but you can also make into a 8’’inch it will just be a bit lower than what is pictured here

There is even enough icing if you wanted to cut your cake in half to make a middle layer of icing as well 😍😍

So how to do it:

Follow your Bake it by Giovannellis instruction card and make your mix as per normal including preheating your oven to 135°C. But once you get to the step about adding your cake into the cupcakes there where you will stop and instead we want to line a 6" circle cake tin.

To line your tin use a little piece of butter and spread it around the entire bottom and sides (inside) of the cake tin then cut a circle piece of baking paper in the bottom which will stick to the butter to not move and add approx. 2 pieces of rectangle baking paper to the outside of the tin leaving no gaps, it should stick on easy with the butter if it is not just add a bit more butter. You can leave some extra at the top as well.

Now pour all your batter into the prepped pan, give it a good tap on your bench and bake in the oven for about 1 hour or until the cake is baked. You can test this by pressing your finger on top of the cake and if it springs back up it is ready, if it doesn't spring back up and sinks a bit where you pressed it needs longer.

Leave it to cool for a few moments in the tin then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely. You don't want to ice it if there is any warmth in the cake the icing will melt off.

To ice your cake you can either slice it in half and place some icing in the middle and on top, just ice the top like I have in the pic or you can ice all around the cake to cover the whole thing.
