If you are looking for a way to make your Christmas Dessert even better this holiday season then this is the recipe for you. The Christmas Tree Brownies are absolutely adorable on their own but when you add the white chocolate and pistachios across the top it looks like the most beautiful dessert that almost looks too good to eat.
Your Bake it by Giovannellis brownies are a great one to cut into shapes, you can check the brownies baking mix here and the tree cookie cutter here.
How to make these:
- Bake your Bake it by Giovannellis Brownies as per the instructions and let them cool completely, you don't want any warmth in it otherwise it will break as you try to cut them. And don't cut these into squares once cool, you want the brownie to be whole to be able to cut your shape out
- Use your Bake it by Giovannellis Tree Cookie Cutter to cut out a shape on the brownie, place the cookie cutter on top of your brownie starting at the edges so you can cut as many as you like can. Push your cutter all the way through and then lightly press the entire inside of the cutter to slowly push out the brownies. You want to do this lightly so that it doesn't break so take your time with it
- Once you have cut your shapes melt about 2-3 rows of white chocolate, in 30 second bursts mixing well in between each burst, it should only take 1-1.5 minutes to melt
- Chop about 1-2 tbsp of pistachios into quite small pieces with a knife
- Now to add this to your brownie, get some white choc on a spoon and start at the very top of the brownie Christmas Tree and and move your spoon with the melted chocolate back and forth on a slight angle all the way from the top to the bottom of the tree, this gives that affect that Christmas Lights or Tinsel does to tree. You can also watch the video here on how to do this.
- Then add your pistachios all over the white chocolate and your done
- You can also add a bigger piece of pistachio on top too like I have to look a bit like a tree topper or star
Baking Tips:
- White chocolate is best for this as it is white and pops against the brown of the brownie and green of the pistachio
- These will set just at room temp but if you want them to set quicker just pop them in the fridge
- You can store these in an airtight container and between each layer if you add a piece of baking paper on top so they don't stick together
- Using pistachios that are crushed really well with a sharp knife works perfectly as the tiny crushed up pieces look really pretty on the brownies
